Demand for our vegan microbiological testing reaches record high

As animal-free beauty continues to grow, an increasing number of companies are deepening their commitment to developing cosmetic and personal care products that are truly vegan – from development through to microbiological testing. In fact, demand for our pioneering VeganSure® testing solution has grown 20% year on year since it launched in 2019. This year, nearly half of the routine testing we have undertaken has been performed using VeganSure too.

We’re incredibly proud of our VeganSure service. The first vegan test suite to market, it replaces all animal-derived ingredients usually found in standard culture media and neutralisers, with plant-based or synthetic alternatives, such as papaya-derived enzymes, soya bean, and plant peptones. This enables brands to assure the safety of a cosmetic product, whilst staying true to their principles.

Companies can, therefore, take a 360° approach, ensuring that their products are free from any animal-derived ingredients at every step of the journey, from development and formulation to the mandatory micro challenge tests required to be sold in the UK, EU, or US market.

Plus, the fact that it provides the same results at a similar cost, with the UKAS stamp of approval, means the switch is easy for brands to make.

VeganSure is registered with The Vegan Society’s Vegan Trademark and was one of the first to be accredited by UKAS to its ISO/IEC 17025 standard. Separate laboratory workflows ensure there is no cross-contamination.
