2026 marks a proud moment for everyone at MSL; our 25th anniversary. Since 2001, we have built a reputation as a trusted global compliance partner, supporting manufacturers, raw material suppliers and brand owners across more than 60 countries.

From cosmetics and personal care to household cleansing and biocidal products, the landscape has changed significantly over the past 25 years. We have adapted with it, broadening our services, deepening our scientific expertise and helping customers respond to increasingly complex regulatory expectations.

We’ve supported customers through the introduction of the EU Cosmetics Regulation, the UK’s postBrexit frameworks, the US MoCRA requirements, the EU Biocidal Products Regulation, and the increased scrutiny on disinfectant efficacy during the COVID19 pandemic. Standards and test methods continue to shift, and our role has been to provide clear, practical and scientifically robust guidance throughout. This depth of regulatory and scientific experience has also made us one of the UK’s largest independent Responsible Persons today.

Recent highlights include receiving the Queen’s Award for Enterprise: International Trade in 2022, recognising our exceptional export growth and expanding international customer base.Our transition to an employeeownership model in 2019 has secured longterm independence and embedded a culture where scientific quality and customer service are shared responsibilities. Today, more than 30 specialists contribute to our continued growth.

Our leadership has evolved too. Following the retirement of our founder Angela Davies, longstanding board member Carolyn Burney became Managing Director in 2022, supported by Alex Fotheringham as Operations Director. Together, they continue to strengthen MSL’s scientific capability, expand our global reach and uphold our commitment to high standards and practical, riskled regulation across the industry.
